ABOUT PINOT NOIR:
Pinot Noir originates from France’s Burgundy region, particularly the Côte-d'Or. However, it is now cultivated in many wine regions worldwide, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, northern Croatia, the Czech Republic, England, the Republic of Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Hungary, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, New Zealand, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United States, and Uruguay. In recent years, the U.S. has emerged as a major producer of Pinot Noir, with top-rated wines coming from Oregon’s Willamette Valley and California’s Sonoma County, particularly the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Lesser-known but notable regions include Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, the Santa Lucia Highlands on the Central Coast, as well as Santa Maria Valley and Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County.
Pinot Noir is known for its remarkable range of aromas, flavors, and textures, which can sometimes perplex tasters. Generally, these wines are light to medium-bodied, often displaying aromas of black and red cherries, raspberries, currants, and other small red and black berries. Traditional red Burgundies are famous for their rich, savory qualities and distinctive "farmyard" notes. However, evolving winemaking techniques, modern tastes, and the introduction of new, more adaptable clones have led to a shift toward a fresher, fruit-forward, and cleaner style of Pinot Noir.
Upon arrival at the wine tasting, guests will receive their wine-tasting card and complimentary $15 dinner voucher, which expires on 4/7/25. (Only one may be used per table).
If guests cannot attend the wine tasting, Pierpont's will have their $15 voucher waiting for them at the host stand through 4/7/25. If the $15 voucher(s) are not picked up or used by 4/7/25 - guests forfeit the use of the promotional $15 voucher.
